How YOU can help
There are many ways you can volunteer with Project Precious Paws. You can volunteer as much or as little as you have time for, all efforts are greatly appreciated! To become involved as a volunteer, please send us an email and a brief explanation of how you would like to volunteer, and if possible an estimate of the time you think you will be able to volunteer on a weekly or monthly basis.
Foster Homes: Foster Homes are a great way to volunteer with us. It is a temporary way to introduce an animal into your home, and receive all the benefits of loving an animal without being permanent. You provide the space, love, daily care, and exercise for a dog or cat in your home while the animal is waiting to be adopted, and Project Precious Paws provides the medical care and food. You should be able to bring your “foster” animal to adoption events and stay with them if possible to answer questions from prospective adopters as you will get to know this animal better than anyone else. Fundraising and Donation Drives: We will have many opportunities throughout the year for your help with fundraising ideas and donation drives. Often we will need volunteers to staff these events, or in the case of donation drives, someone to pick up and deliver donated goods.
Adoption Events: We occasionally have adoption events at the Petco store in Dardenne Prairie and the PetSmart in Wentzville. We will need volunteers to help staff these events, answer questions, and perform some routine animal care such as making sure they have water, or going for a brief walk to potty.
Of course there are many many more ways you can help. Almost anyone with some extra time can help save one of our precious animals looking for a home. We will always welcome you no matter how much time you have, or what your talent, however some ideas of ways you could be helpful are:
Crafters: We can always sell homemade crafts for extra income.
Anyone with a car: Helping other rescues with transportation of animals with a final destination of a safe haven, with another rescue group or shelter. Puppy kisses are always free!
Please consider volunteering and helping out an animal in need.
